If previous seasons were about classic shapes, color and textures, men`s fashion 2012 brings a lot of bright surprises. Below you can find the most important men`s fashion trends for autumn-winter 2011/2012.
- Blue
Dark blue emphasizes discipline and rigor just like in the army, so if you want to be admired and respected, opt for a classic style in dark blue. Get inspiration from the collections of Donatella Versace, Christopher Bailey and the show Etro Models.
- Red
Red can be widely found in many designer collections for the next season, both for women and men fashion. Dare to wear the color of passion, as it is also the symbol of strength and power. Choose the red total look as seen at Dior Homme, D&G or Alexander McQueen, or go for the accents taking the form of red jackets, pants or accessories.
- Scottish Cells
What is a tartan? It`s the Scottish cell, a big hit this season. Believe it or not, there is a special organization called Scottish Register of Tartans Dealing which registers all possible variants of traditional Scottish patterns. Fashion shows which reveal deviations from the standard canon are negatively regarded. The classic Scottish theme is reinterpreted this season in collections such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry Prorsum and D&G.
- Oversize coats
Oversize coat is a big trend in men`s fashion for this autumn. The important thing is that the cut of the coats or jackets to be comfortable, regardless if it is about large fittings or large pockets. Large size coats were spotted on collections of Bottega Veneta, Ralf Simons, and Christopher Bailey for Burberry Prorsum.
- Hats
Men fashion and hats get along very well this season. Generally inspired from the period 40-60s of the 20th century, hats are to be seen in collections of Lanvin, Dior Homme or D&G.
- Graphic Prints
Graphic prints are another trend in men`s fashion 2012. For example, Lanvin collection proposes coats and suits made from fabric with colored diamonds and irregular shapes, while D&G created suits of red taffeta with black floral prints. Donatella Versace showed sweaters decorated with trapezoids and prints of symmetric points.
